DOWNLOADABLE AUDIOBOOKS AND eBOOKS

The library subscribes to a downloadable audiobook and eBook collection for our patrons. The collection is managed by a service called Overdrive.

You sign in to the site by selecting the option at the top of the screen, select our library from the pull down menu, and then enter your library card barcode number. Your library card and account must be in good standing.

You can check out up to 10 books at a time for a week or two and download them to your home computer for listening or reading. The book files become unplayable after the loan period expires.

Audiobooks and eBooks might also be able to be transferred to portable devices such as a Kindle®, iPod®, iPhone®, iPad®, Sony® Reader, NOOK™, Android™, BlackBerry® or Windows® Phone, but not all file types are compatabile with all devices. Look here for a list of compatible devices.

If the book you want is being used by another patron, you can place a hold and be notified when it's your turn to borrow the book.

Overdrive also has a collection of additional e-books available to patrons at any time that do not expire. These titles are EPUBS and can be accessed  with software you can download for free - Adobe Digital Editions. Look at the bottom of the left hand side of the page for these additional titles.

If your home Internet connection is slow, the library has a number of workstations you can use to download files quickly.

(A library card not in good standing might be caused by excessive fines. an expired card, an overdue address check, or some of of older cards have short bar code numbers - 12 digits - and must be replaced. Please contact the library if you have difficulty.)
