Book Review and Discussion Groups:
Bookmarks at the Museum, a program in which current best-sellers are
reviewed, takes place
at 2 p.m. on the third Thursday of each month at the Westchester Township History Museum. Attendees
are invited to bring their lunch. Coffee, tea and cookies will be served. It is not
necessary to read the book in advance. Free of charge.
Popular Books Discussion Group meets on the first Monday evening of each month at 6:30 p.m.
in the Bertha Wood room at Thomas Library. Attendees join a lively discussion centered around the
chosen book for that month. Free of charge.
Computer Classes:
Classes are offered throughout the
year to patrons who have little or no computer experience. Ask for a current schedule in the Thomas
Library Serials department. Pre-registration
required. Free of
charge.
Family Films are shown at 2
p.m. on the second Saturday afternoon of each month at Hageman Library from September - May.
Museum Programs and Tours:
The Westchester Township History
Museum, an educational service of Westchester Public Library, offers tours and programs for the family.
Located in the historic 1885 Brown Mansion at 700 W. Porter Ave., Chesterton, IN, the museum is open 1-5 p.m.,
Wednesday-Sunday. Local history exhibits, information and a museum store are also available. Free

Summer Bandstand Concert and Film Series
Bring the whole family, lawn chairs
and a picnic dinner and join your neighbors for an old-fashion concert series featuring a variety of
traditional music. Each program, which begins at 7 p.m., is followed by a movie suitable for family
viewing. In the event of rain, the concerts and films will take place in the
Library Service Center.
The series takes place at Thomas Centennial Park in downtown Chesterton, with
one concert being performed at Hawthorne Park in Porter.
